Apparently, the audiences who are flocking (more like dragging their feet, according to the latest box office figures) to see Robert Rodriguez-Quentin Tarantino's film, Grindhouse may have been threatening to riot about the bad quality of the film and demanding their money back. Perhaps they figure that if a movie costs $56 million, it should look that way.
At one multiplex in New York City, a written notice was posted on every box office window explaining that the scratches, faded color, burnt edges and generally shitty look of the film are there ON PURPOSE. Which means nobody's getting their money back, alas. Then again, it takes gall to complain, once you are willing to part with your hard earned money to see a woman who has a semiautomatic weapon for a leg.
