Like All Good Latin Food, There’s Frying, Red Meat And Mayonaise Involved

Everyone knows the best thing about being Latin, (besides being bestowed with incredible sexual prowess), is the food. Which is why we are always on the lookout for the best of the best in Latino culinary creativity. To that end, we point you now to a Puerto Rican place in Chicago called Borinquen Restaurant (see? creative!) that sandwiches a piece of steak between two fried plantains and calls it a “Jibarito”. We had to hear about it from one of our Jewish friends because we can’t find any good Latino blogs in that area. The internet claims that one Juan “Peter” Figueroa (Peter from Juan?) invented it. Anyone ever had one of these? And more importantly, which of our adoring fans will be getting us one asap? The recipe is at the other end of this link.

These things are delicious. To bad they don’t have them in NYC, yet!
They are to die for
