Prom Watch: Transgender Prom King Candidate Allowed To Lose Like Other Kids

In our continuing coverage of our nation’s proms, we bring you the story of Cinthia Covarrubias who recently ran for king, and lost, at her high school in Fresno, California. The seventeen-year-old’s school ruled last week to allow a female to run for king or a male to run for queen making her the first tran-man to openly do so. Perhaps it was because, as one of her classmates Leanne Reyes put it:

We live in a generation now where dudes are chicks and chicks are dudes.

Seriously. Congrats to Covarrubias on your win.
