Here at Guanabee, we are cueing the mariachis as news comes to us of a Latina transgender teen who was crowned prom queen at her high school in Fresno, California over the weekend. Blabbeando, our fave gay, Columbian blogger in New York, reports that just weeks after a San Diego Latino transgender youth lost his race for prom king, Miss Johnny “Crystal” Vera has made history. The Fresno Bee says Vera is the first transgender prom queen in Fresno and possibly ever. We are more than proud that a Latina has lead the way and in silver stilettos no less.
