San Antonio Celebrates American Mexican Holiday
4 May 2007, 10:02 AM. By Cindy Casares

San Antonio, the city that would be Mexicoland, lines up another weekend of…wait for it, wait for it… fiestas! What’s the occasion this week? Why it’s cinco de mayo– the historic anniversary of Corona beer increasing its market share. Oh and also some battle between Mexico and France that most Mexicans know nothing about. And even though it’s about as relevant to modern Mexicans as the Louisiana Purchase is to modern Americans, San Antonio will be taking full advantage. It’s much easier than trying to get Americans to say the actual date of independence, el dies y seis de septiembre.
