Papal_Heist_6_05_07.jpg Reports from the #1 news source that’s holier than thou reveal an insidious plot sprung on Pope Benedict XVI during His Holiness’ recent meetings with Mexican President Felipe Calderón. The Catholic News Service chose to lowlight the political blah-blah-blah discussed by these two heads of state (Mexico’s inclusion in the upcoming G8 summit, blah-blah-blah, emigration and the indigenous population, blah-blah-blah, drug trafficking and evaluating the job Mario López did as Miss Universe MC), in favor of noting how Calderón’s trio of kiddos ’stole the show.’ Apparently, that’s not all they stole:

Maria, the 10-year-old daughter of the president and his wife, Margarita Zavala, gave the pope a teddy bear, which the pontiff blessed. Her 7-year-old brother, Luis Felipe, gave him a shirt from Mexico’s national soccer team. And Juan Pablo, 4, had a soccer ball, which he showed to the pope; the ball did not appear to be on the gift table after the children left the room.

Thievery is clearly afoot. Perhaps lil’ J.P. went unbaptized as a baby…
