Co-Eds_Border_6_05_07.jpg Looking for a kick-ass study abroad experience? We at Guanabee gotchou covered. The Houston Chronicle tells the story of a south Texan community that’s up in arms over the secrecy of a fence the Border Patrol might end up building through the local college campus. God forbid University of Texas at Brownsville students find themselves on the Mexican side of life more than usual; next thing you know, they’ll be eating burritos and speaking Spanish to get directions. Seems helpless co-eds aren’t the only ones at risk:

Local officials have been fuming over what they consider the secrecy concerning a border fence they say will cut farmers off from water, harm wildlife, ruin recreational areas and send a hostile message to Mexico, Texas’ biggest trading partner.

The U.S. sure as hell can’t afford to draw even more hostility from our southern neighbor.

Actually, they already speak Spanish to do everything down there. Also, burritos are a California thing, yo. They’re eating tacos the size of your head, though. Also, shout out to UTB! Home of the fighting Scorpions.
