File this one under Freudian fuck-up. Scouting for news that is worth our attention, we came across this headline in the Washington City Paper: “Gay, Latino Police Units Not ‘Decentralized’ Yet.” Sounds intriguing right? Except when we read the article, we had no clue what it was trying to say…Until we figured it out.
Jonathan York’s report on D.C. police Chief Cathy Lanier’s decision that might “decentralize” the Gay and Lesbian Liaison Unit mistakingly placed the word ‘Latino’ every time it meant Lesbian. Get your L’s right, Juanito of Weekly City Paper! And save your Lesbian/Latino sexual cop fantasies for after hours.
Gay, Latino Police Units Not “Decentralized” Yet [Washington City Paper]

Actually, there are two separate units being “decentralized.” There’s the Gay and Lesbian Liason Unit and the Latino Liason Unit. Apologize that the lede of the post was confusing, but the headline was accurate.
