Giant Chancla Smacks Manhattan
8 June 2007, 10:00 AM. By Cindy Casares
Earlier, we learned that Latins rule summer marketing because we’re so hot we’re caliente. And no Latinos are hotter in New York than the Brasileños, as evidenced by this giant 3-D Havaianas chancla billboard (click photo to enlarge) in Manhattan’s downtown neighborhood of NoLIta. The fact that the board is placed in such an über riche, eurotrash neigborhood further demonstrates just how chic Brazilian culture is in New York. Somehow we can’t see a giant tire sandal from Mexico fitting in quite as well.
