Local authorities allege that enterprising Latino businessman (i.e., pimps) are practicing the world’s oldest profession in a region of Tennessee frequented by dozens and dozens of migrant workers from Mexico, cashing in on the ol’ economic rule of meeting a demand for sex with no strings attached. Their gimmick? Running these whorehouses smack in the middle of residential areas surrounding Nashville:

Unlike brothels operated from massage parlors or adult entertainment businesses, many Hispanic brothels are set up in regular homes or apartments, right in the middle of Nashville neighborhoods. That can pose a problem for adults and children who live in those areas and are exposed the business of prostitution, authorities said.

We can just see it now … Dennis the Menace using his hard-earned paper route money for weekly visits to ‘that pretty brown girl’ who lives down the block. Maybe he’ll grow up to spearhead the movement that legalizes prostitution there, and Nashville will become the next Mexico City.
