Latin Kings Coming Soon To A European City Near You

LatinKinMadrid_06_22_07.jpg So, apparently the Family Security Group is not that off in its sensationalist statements that Hispanic gangs are expanding and could soon be found in your community. A Spanish court outlawed the Madrid chapter of the Latin Kings yesterday after deducing that “all they really did was fight with rival gangs.” Duh!

The Latin Kings’ Madrid Chapter was founded in 2000 to supposedly defend Latino values and help freshly arrived immigrants. According to the Spanish court, the gang started to become violent in 2004 by entering a turf war with rival gang called the Netas—the name comes from the Puerto Rican tradition of exclaiming “Neta! Neta!” when a baby is born.

“One can only conclude that the fundamental objective (of the gang) is to commit criminal acts,” the court said.

This ruling means it’s illegal to be a Latin King. For some reason this seems very obvious to us; all you have to do is search ‘Latin Kings’ in Wikipedia to know that the Latin Kings have not done any charitable deeds since the 1940’s. Even then, we doubt that they kept kosher. Why does anyone join a gang, if not for getting into trouble and traveling the globe?
