'Mad Tan' Asian Dad Mistaken For Latino

Mad_Tan_6_18_07.jpg From the unintentional sociological study known as Overheard in New York, the following dialogue between two Asian girls in Queens made us laugh for a bevy of reasons, their obvious disgust at ethnic ambiguity being only one of them:

Asian chick #1: Yeah, my dad is mad tan, so at the beach everyone thinks he’s Mexican.
Asian chick #2: Oh, that sucks.

We always figured being mad tan could lead to worse comparisons, like being mistaken for Paris Hilton. Also, when Latino intersects with Asian in an individual’s blood, the possibilities are endless! (Comic book character ‘El Panda’ is just one example.)
