Once Again, Wonkette Explains WTF Is Going On With The Senate Immigration Bill

We know we should be up on this stuff, but if real Americans can’t be bothered to understand our legislative system, why should those of us who only live here because Davy Crockett didn’t kill our grandfathers have to learn it? Instead, we turn to the smarty pants at Wonkette who probably went to an Ivy League school or at least dropped out of one. They understand what all those bloated, pink men in Washington are saying. See:

Almost everyone is against [the Illegal Alien Amnesty Bill of 2007.] 80% of those polled oppose it — 80% of voters, anyway. But a full 100% of agribusiness, construction and service-sector corporations support the bill, so the Senate just put it back on track with a 64-35 vote.

Oh, and the new version of the bill would require the illegals to go back to Mexico and apply for a work permit or something, which means nobody’s actually going to do it and everything will stay just the same. Hooray!

So, even if you understand government, it makes no sense! We knew our apathy was justified. Thanks, Wonks.
