The American Film Institute released a list of the top 100 movies ever made on a CBS special called “AFI’s 100 Years, 100 Movies — 10th Anniversary Edition” this week, and nothing Latino or Latino-related made the cut…except for Rosie Perez! Kind of. Thanks to Spike Lee joint “Do the Right Thing” landing at #96, the hyperactive dance Rosie does to the movie’s opening credits is immortalized alongside that naked sketching scene in “Tit-anic” and the yellow brick road from “The Wizard of Oz.” Check out this trivia about her role in “Do the Right Thing”, courtesy of the IMDb:
According to Rosie Perez, her face is not shown in her nude scene because she felt exploited and was crying. She later decided she didn’t mind and appeared nude again in other movies.
Oh, we know. That’s why a shot of her from “White Men Can’t Jump”, where Rosie clearly gets down with Woody Harrelson, appears above. To remind you.
