Foster Farms, mass-producing chicken empire, has partnered with Norteño band Los Tucanes de Tijuana to promote their chiiiiccckkkeeeennssss in the form of billboards along LA’s various highways. The outdoor ads are part of ‘The Foster Impostors’ campaign:
“two out-of-state, junk food-eating chickens who, in their repeatedly failed attempts to impersonate Foster Farms chickens, highlight the superior qualities of the always fresh, always natural, locally-grown Foster Farms birds.”
The ad campaign could have sexual caché, it has Los Tucanes de Tijuana, except for the fact that it is really lame. Why would any chicken want to be victim to an assembly line slaughter house? Despite being located in the ‘Land of Milk and Honey,’ and calling their chickens ‘fresh’ and ‘natural’, Foster Farms has been subjugated to an incredible amount of controversy surrounding health codes and employee compensation as stated by the non profit organization VivaUSA! Whose mission is to “help people change to a veggie diet!”
Don’t get us wrong here, we don’t like chiiiiiccckkeeeennnsss that much. It’s just that if we were to be chicken impostors, we would much rather pass ourselves off as organic corn-fed chickens living in some nice quaint New Zealand farm.
