U.S. Deports Mentally Disabled, Hispanic American In A Move That Can Only Be Called Retarded

LaMigra.jpg

You’re going to love this one. The American Civil Liberties Union sued the U.S. government on Monday for deporting 29-year-old Los Angeles-born Pedro Guzman, a developmentally disabled American citizen who was serving a 120-day trespassing sentence in a Los Angeles jail. ACLU spokesman Michael Soller said he was deported to Tijuana, Mexico, on May 10 or May 11 for an alleged immigration violation. Guzman lives about 70 miles north in Lancaster with his mother and could barely read or write, so he kept his brother’s telephone number on a piece of paper. Now he’s lost somewhere in Mexico, presumably Tijuana. His family says they received a call from him in Tijuana and the last thing he asked was, “Where am I?” before the line went dead. Members of his family have traveled to Tijuana and searched shelters, jails and hospitals trying to find him to no avail. If anyone sees the poor dude, let us know.
