Unshocking Revelations: Hispanics Go To Church Together, Get Into It

The latest study from D.C.-based think tank Pew Hispanic Center unleashes the following conclusion on an unsuspecting America: Latino Catholics favor a “distinctively ethnic” experience at Mass, which apparently means attending it with other Hispanics and carrying on in Spanish while there. We’d like to save the folks at Pew some research money, and officially go on the record to conclude that

• Japanese tourists go to Times Square with other Japanese tourists, speaking Japanese the whole time
• Indian families go to Indian weddings with other Indians, refusing to let up with that whole Hindi thing
• Jewish believers go to Temple with other Jews, and speak–well, you get the point

What’s more, Latino Catholics are more likely to believe in the idea that bread and wine actually become the body and blood of Christ during Eucharist. Maybe that foul taste explains the recent dip in Church attendance lately…
