A-Rod Hits the Red Carpet With Wife And Guilt In Tow

Outed philanderer Alex Rodríguez and his wife Cynthia hit the red carpet at yesterday’s MLB All-Star Game with all the affection of feuding siblings. The Yankees superstar figured taking his woman on a nice trip to San Francisco and exposing her to a little glamor might take the edge off two-timing her. (Would’ve done wonders for his public image, too, if the chemistry weren’t so painfully forced!) The charade turned farcical when some jimook from Fox’s Best Damn Sports Show, Period asked a question meant to inflate A-Rod’s ego:

Do you ever get home, watch a highlight of yourself, and say–wow, I’m actually really good?

Rather than provide a fluff answer to a fluff question, Stray-Rod offered what sounds like a rehearsed argument for burying all memories of his affair:

No; I don’t like to focus on the past, on what’s already happened. I like to think about the present, and look forward to the future. [Awkwardly pausing, he shoots a pleading glance at Cynthia.] Sure, we’ve had a lot of fun the first half of this year, but now it’s time to step up and get serious.

It’s great to know that at least he had fun with his bottle blonde mistress. We’re left wondering why Cynthia didn’t just speak her mind and wow the paparazzi with another t-shirt from the ‘Fuck You’ summer collection.
