Ain’t That A Bitch: Our Power Company Is Trying To Kill Us
19 July 2007, 10:40 AM. By Cindy Casares
As some of you know (and some of you hate) Guanabee offices are located in New York City. So we experienced a bit of trauma yesterday afternoon when an underground steam pipe exploded in midtown Manhattan and brought back memories of mean people who hate us more than Los Angeles does. A witness who was in a nearby building when the blast occurred reports:
It was the most terrifying thing I’ve ever been through. The building shook, the lights went out and there was steam rising up from the street. And I work on the 26th floor! We booked it out of there leaving everything behind. I thought we were going to die.
Fortunately, the city has found there were no terrorists involved. Just Con Edison, the power company who also seems to want to kill us. It’s hard out here for a pimp. Above, see some citizen video of the steam that sent everyone running for their lives as it came billowing out of a two lane hole in the ground outside Grand Central Station. Oh and, P.S., there was asbestos found in the debris this morning. Party.
