Covering the Coverage: The Chicago Tribune Appreciates The Political Clout Of The Maid
9 July 2007, 11:15 AM. By Cindy Casares

Chicago Tribune, we’re sure you’re really proud of yourselves for discovering that Latinos in America have great political influence in this country. In fact, you’re probably patting yourselves on the back for publishing a two page story on the topic. It reminds us of the time our college friend, (ok, grad school), finally had sex. Sure the girl that slept with him was as ugly as sin and, in some courts, the whole act might have been considered non-consensual, but nonetheless. You take it how you can get it, right? That’s why we truly hate to be a Negative Nancy about this, but if not us, then who? You see, we’re afraid you’re still a little behind the curve on the whole cultural sensitivity thing, so here’s a little tip: When you write an article entitled “Latinos Growing Clout Has Seized Candidates Notice”, never, EVER begin it with a lead like this:
Until this summer, the cooks, waiters and housekeepers of Las Vegas usually didn’t see many contenders for the White House until well into an election season.
We don’t care what comes after that, you’ve pretty much fucked that shit up. Mmmkay? Signed, the maid.

Dumbasses. Everybody knows the latinos in Vegas are prostitutes, drug dealers, and tittie bar peddlers. Seriously, could somebody pass the clue jar to the Tribune? 2007?
