Enrique Iglesias Wears U.S. Army Insignia In Germany, Offends No One
9 July 2007, 3:00 PM. By Carlos Posas
The last time we brought up a famous Latino wearing an accessory emblazoned in red print, it was Cameron Díaz. (Remember when she sparked an overplayed controversy by carrying a tote with a Mao Zedong quote in Perú, where extreme Communist sentiment once killed thousands?) Now, it’s Enrique Iglesias looking the lost child he is during his performance in Hamburg for this past Saturday’s Live Earth Concert. According to Wikipedia, two upward chevrons are used by the U.S. Army to designate corporals–many of whom invaded Germany during World War II and called its people ‘dirty krauts.’ (We know it’s a stretch, people, but isn’t this pic funnier than the usually airbrushed, oiled-down Enrique?)
