Latin America Boycotts Los Simpsons The Movie
20 July 2007, 9:53 AM. By Cindy Casares
Some Latin Americans are calling for a boycott of The Simpsons Movie because of the producers’ choice not to use the original Spanish speaking cast to voice the characters for the Latin American dub. According to blogger Latina Viva, actors Humberto Vélez (Homer), Nancy McKenzie (Marge) and Gabriel Chávez (Mr. Burns), among others, voiced the Latin American version of the show for 15 years before they were let go two years ago because they asked for more dough. Latin American fans hoped they would reappear for the movie, but they didn’t. Understandably, fans are disappointed, but we think Latina Viva gives away a little too much power when they say,
We really don’t count for sh… in this world.
Don’t let Matt Groening make you feel like shit. What would Homer do? Say “mmmmmm, dooonuts.”

Brilliant! Corrupt governments, run down infrastructures, high levels of criminality and boycotting a silly cartoon film becomes important. It goes to show where our priorities are.
Shouldn’t that be churros?
