New 7 Wonders of the World Named: J. Lo Performs, Her Ass Named 8th

Thanks to countless text messages, online ballots, and phone calls in the first-ever worldwide vote on the matter, Brazil’s Statue of Christ Redeemer, Peru’s Machu Picchu, and Mexico’s Chichen Itza are now among the New 7 Wonders of the World. (Who knew Latinos were so openly proud of their cultural heritage?) The announcement came at an event in Lisbon’s Benfica stadium, where Jennifer Lopez performed for 50,000 Portuguese audience members who won’t even watch her upcoming movie “El Cantante”. They even booed when the Statue of Liberty got a nod as a candidate! (That part’s not a joke, though it is funny.) Despite J. Lo’s best efforts, somebody else stole the show:

Macchu Piccu’s award was picked up by a Peruvian man in national costume who held the award up to the sky and then bowed to the crowd with his hands clasped, eliciting one of the biggest cheers of the night.

We just hope he then invited his newest fans to sample Peru’s cutest culinary export, cuy.
