Word has gotten around about a lonely Peruvian photojournalist who posted a love letter to the country's Minister of Foreign Commerce and Tourism (pictured here) on his personal blog, causing a mild media flurry questioning the professionalism of their relationship. (Mind you, this happened before coverage of Villaraigosa / Salinas nearly drove L.A. insane.) Our favorite part of Luís Iparraguirre's infatuated rant is how he musters all his romantic eloquence to compare Ministra Mercedes Aráoz to ... drumroll, please ... actresses and pop culture icons from America:

I know you don't have Lucy Liu's ass, or Drew Barrymore's breasts, or Cameron Diaz's smile, but who wants you to be another Charlie's Angel? I only want you to be my angel [...] I want to be your Spider-Man, your Jack Sparrow, I want to be your Superman, but above all else, beyond being a minister, you're also without knowing it, my Lois Lane, my Mary Jane--or, only my Jane. Can I be your Tarzan?God, only a complete loser would declare his love for a high-powered woman via blog. At least the object of Iparraguirre's affection read his missive, was flattered, and graciously turned him away. (Carlos is still waiting on Thalía's reply.)
