(Re-)Enter Boy Shakritney

Remember weeks ago when we predicted that reality TV contestant Boy Shakira would become the next overnight internet sensation? Well, it turns out we were right even though we never bothered to follow up. Since his mid-June debut on “America’s Got Talent,” the fierce, cross-dressing performer from L.A. has drawn quite an obsessed following in the blogosphere (including yours truly), as well as on the show. In case you missed out, above is a clip of the premiere that got him to the semifinal stage as one of the show’s last 20 contestants. We’ve grown to love the fellah as much for his sincerity as for his high kicks; to really articulate how we feel, we cite an open letter to our newfound anti-hero that asks “why am I so fascinated by you?”, among other things:

Just by your very existence, are you a middle finger to the people who can’t handle it when a big Latin guy in drag comes out and dances his ass off, refusing to hide one inch of feminine side?

We’re not sure what happens next, as we can’t be bothered to actually watch the show. What we do know is a results episode is slated for tomorrow night, so consider our fingers crossed.
