Rednecks Ask Clinton, Obama About “Froggy Mexicans”

Submitted to CNN for Monday’s Democratic debate where candidates will field questions via YouTube, the above clip sparked some questions in our pretty little heads. Are these guys serious? Who do they claim to represent? Could they be Latino? (Answers: No, it’s called parody. Rednecks, clearly. Jury’s still out on that one.) “Red State Update” is the comic duo of Jackie Broyles and Dunlap, dedicated to voicing über-right wing American views to the world. The fact that they’re featured on well-known liberal mag Salon clued us in to the idea that satire–not ignorance–is the name of their game. Our conclusion? Lampooned bigotry is so much more entertaining than the kind inspired by Carlos Mencia.
