There’s an interesting trend going on that’s going to make it even tougher for illegal aliens trying to gain amnesty. In light of the whole illegal alien debate, it seems legal aliens in this country, especially Hispanic ones, are a little worried about their own security. Record numbers of them are applying for citizenship around the country. As witnessed by the “It’s A Small World” photo-op the New York Times featured on its website earlier. (They’ve since switched it to some new citizens in Mickey Mouse rain ponchos, for some reason.) Says the Times:
More than 4,000 new Americans were sworn in yesterday… About 1,000 people from 75 countries took their oaths together under the turrets of Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., as Gloria Estefan sang “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Sounds more like a publicist’s dream than the American one. But then, is there really any difference any more?
