It’s a little early for sex talk, (unless you’re one of those morning people, which, ew, get away from us), but don’t worry, the University of Texas is only cockteasing us with a study published this week that doesn’t quite live up to its Eggersian claims. Of the 237 reasons researchers Cindy Meston and David Buss collected from their homogenous array of UT students, for why they engaged in sexual activity, the most entertaining response we read was, to “change the topic of conversation.” What about, “to get the landlord off my back?” Or “to get even with my sister for borrowing my clothes without asking?” Or, “because screaming at the top of my lungs in orgasmic ecstasy is the only way to drown out the voices?” We’re sure we’re not the only ones! Fortunately there’s a blog where you can add your own reason for soiling your virtue here. And feel free to share with the class.
