Update: Daisy Fuentes Sweatshop Swears It'll Change

Daisy_Kohls_06_18_07.png Thanks in part to some hard-hitting reporting we did the day news broke that Daisy Fuentes’ department store clothing line is produced under sweatshop conditions, the Guatemalan factory accused by the U.S. National Labor Commission of abusing its workers has agreed to cut it out. Sure, reports say the factory decided to comply with lawful labor practices only after the American company that hired it in the first place threatened to pull out—but we know the real catalyst for this change of heart. Could it be the letter to Mizz Fuentes from a desperate worker that we published and translated? (Probably not.) Now if only we could get our hands on a note from one of the workers at “sweatshop-free” American Apparel.
