“Space Giants” Trivia: Goldar Was An Hermano

It’s a funny story how we came upon this clip of the 1970’s Japanese TV import, “Space Giants.” Guanabee Editor Cindy Casares recently lost a wrestling match with a set of stairs and managed to debilitate herself to the point of winding up in two plastic boot casts that make her resemble a robot. She decided she needed flames painted on her boots so she could feel like one of the rocket robots from “Space Giants,” or as it was known in Japan “Ambassador Magma.” This got us reminiscing about the show, so we IMDb’d it and learned that the actor who did the English voice over for the character of 50-foot, father robot Goldar is named Peter Fernández. That’s right, ours is a long and proud heritage. And now you know your editors are either total geeks or smoking dope. (Or both.) P.S. After the jump, see Cindy’s flaming boots.
