Under the megawatt heat lamp of the dreaded immigration issue, presidential candidates sweat, squirm and say things they feel voters want to hear. (Mainly to the tune of, ‘I promise to eradicate them.’) Case in point, Republican Mitt Romney yesterday called New York under former mayor Rudy Giuliani a “poster child” for illegal immigration. Reacting to the comment, the city’s current mayor, Michael Bloomberg, put in his two cents and prompted us to like the guy for basically the first time ever:
…Bloomberg said, “Boy, let ‘em come.” He went on to say, ““This city and this country were built by immigrants. Thrive on immigrants. And without more immigrants, we don’t have a future.”
Or anybody to drive his limo, deliver his staffers’ food, do his wife’s nails, and keep Gotham running in general.

He loves himself some cheap labor. Just ask all the city workers …

Last time I checked, Bloomberg didn’t have a wife. He has an ex-wife.
