Austin Film Geeks Call On You To “Dismember” The Alamo
16 August 2007, 3:00 PM. By Cindy Casares

The famed (in Austin anyway) independent moviehouse Alamo Drafthouse is launching their first ever zombie film festival entitled, “Dismember The Alamo” in October and they’re seeking submissions. From Austinist:
The fest will be focusing on short films, but truly brain-melting feature lengths may be considered. Eligibility-wise, they’re looking for films completed after January 2004 (previously screened films are okay) and containing “a minimum of one undead zombie or deadite.”
We encourage some enterprising, young filmmaker to get their friends together and shoot an actual Alamo zombie movie wherein the dead Mexican soldiers strewn across the field rise up and make tacos out of Jim Bowie and Davy Crockett. And hey, through the magic of CGI, let’s see John Wayne get his, too. It’s got to turn out more interesting than that bomb that came out few years ago.
