Fidel Castro Deathwatch: El Comandante Too Weak To Even Phone It In For Chavez

Fidel-Castro_Deathwatch_05_28_07.jpg It’s been reported that Communist dictator Fidel Castro delegated the Herculean task of calling Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez’s weekly talk show to the Cuban Vice President. The veep had this to say about Castro’s breathless engrossment in the program, “Aló Presidente”:

I can tell you that he’s watching it, that he has been watching all your reflections, informations and analysis… . Fidel is focusing on the program. He doesn’t miss a minute, he doesn’t miss one detail. And he called me in a hurry to tell me to call you.

We hate to point out the obvious, but if the man is too dead weak to pick up the phone and talk to the only leader in this hemisphere more convinced by his own propaganda than he is, then our Deathwatch may not be too far from closing. But there’s always the possibility that Huey’s just a chatty Kathy nobody can stand on the phone… Not even Sean Penn.
