Guanabee Weather Report: Dean Downgraded To Category 3 As America’s Spring Breaks Are Spared
21 August 2007, 12:00 PM. By Cindy Casares
Authorities on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula breathed a sigh of relief this morning as Hurricane Dean downgraded from a menacing category 5 to a ‘who’s afraid of the big bad hurricane?’ category 3 (at least that the number they’re giving us this hour) while missing popular American resort towns like Cancún. This is good news for MTV who is free to exploit them for another year. Meanwhile, authorities warn the beast could gain power again in the warm Gulf of Mexico waters as it heads towards a second landfall in Northern Mexico. It ain’t over yet, folks. Stay tuned.
