So much for sucking up to Fidel. Michael Moore’s latest documentary, “Sicko,” a scathing expose (does he do any other kind?) on the shortcomings of the United States healthcare system has been banned in Cuba. The irony being that in the film, (or so we’re told, we haven’t actually watched it), Moore paints the Cuban healthcare system to be more efficient than ours even going so far as to travel there with some 9/11 first responders for a free medical visit. The reason why the Cuban government sees the film as “subversive” is not crystal clear to us. Feel free to read this very long article here. But as best we can tell, the hospital Moore featured in “Sicko” is not representative of the kind of healthcare available to the common schmo. So they wouldn’t want those schmoes to see it. Further, it’s well documented that Fidel sought medical help from Spain during his recent bout of aliens popping out of his stomach and they wouldn’t want to bring that sort of thing to anyone’s attention, either. Looks like Fidel prefers to be in charge of his own propaganda.
