I Went Down To Mexico, And All I Got Was This Stupid Face Lift

Guadalajara_Face_Lift_8_3_07.gif As with discounted prescription meds, the American thirst quest for affordable plastic surgery has led more and more gringos south of the border to Guadalajara. Travel packages now offer lipo alongside room, board, and shuttle service from the airport. But what of the poor locals, those who want to join the ranks of the surgically enhanced but instead have to, you know, eat and stuff? Not to worry. The system encourages them to be just as desperately shallow as the Americans who swarm their turf for bargain bin boob jobs and tummy tucks:

Guadalajara also has a public hospital that gives poor people access to plastic surgery at discounted rates, says plastic surgeon Jose Guerrerosantos. “We say that no one is unattractive in Guadalajara,” jokes Martha Venegas, a resident here. “There are poor people, but no ugly ones.”

Now if we could just get that set-up over here in the Sates, the quality of life would be sooo much better.

They should ask Amado Carrillo Fuentes how those surgeries go.
