The above trailer for a documentary called “Mambo to Hip-Hop” is supposed to give us a taste of it how it elucidates “the origins of hip-hop from a Latino vantage point,” but the only connection we see is that practitioners of the Cuban dance style in the ’50s did what looks like a prototype for the b-boy front sweep. Otherwise, we’re withholding judgment until we watch the whole thing. (Whenever that’ll be.) In the meantime, though, we’re on the look out for that old Kangol we lent to our little bro for a Halloween party of his. Fucking kids these days.
