Everyone’s favorite jet-setting actress / clothing designer (ha!) Michelle Rodríguez has joined the cast of futuristic action flick “Avatar.” (Not even IMDb has this shiz up, so we pretty much consider this a scoop.) The mindless, mega budget project—director James Cameron’s first feature since “Titanic”—will feature Rodríguez as a former Marine pilot (i.e., expendable character) who has to fight off aliens or something. As if that weren’t dignified enough, only Rodríguez’s likeness is necessary: performance-capture technology is set to record her and the rest of the cast’s movements before spitting out digitally animated versions of them onto the silver screen. But, seriously, Cameron admires the woman:

“Michelle Rodriguez is someone I’ve wanted to work with since I saw ‘Girlfight’ seven years ago,” said Cameron.

Funny you say that, cuz over that same span of time we’re sure Rodríguez has been delighted to re-hash the same ‘tough chica’ role over and over and over again.
