PBS Apologizes For Not Including Latinos In WWII Doc By Greenlighting Everything Brown

The controversy surrounding Ken Burns’ upcoming WWII documentary “The War” has hit a fevered enough pitch to guilt trip PBS. You see, after Latino advocacy leaders bitched months ago about the dearth of Hispanic soldiers appearing in “The War,” the document- arian who brought you such plainly named bore-a-thons as “Jazz” and “Baseball” decided to add a whopping 28 minutes of Latino interviews to the 14.5 hours of footage he had already organized. In case this show of sensitivity didn’t quite satiate those rabid advocates, PBS has since fallen all over itself approving Hispanic-related content left and right to the tune of 6 features that’ll air before Burns’ does on Sept. 23. And that’s just the beginning! So if you’re brown and can wield a camera that sorta captures some aspect of real life, head on over to PBS–public funding is just as good as any.
