Residente Of Calle 13 Hands Out Copies Of “Tribute To the Police,” Hopes His Sarcasm Is Clear
20 August 2007, 6:14 PM. By Guanabee Staff
Residente, the MC of hugely popular Puerto Rican hip-hop duo Calle 13, hit the streets of his native island today to hand out free copies of his latest single, “Tribute to the Police.” The song is anything but–it verbally de-pantses the force for its involvement in the very recent shooting death of an unarmed man in the ‘hood of Humacao, as well as other shady incidents of excessive police force in Puerto Rican pigs’ past. (Does that mean the track is the excruciatingly long, or fleetingly short?) Until we actually listen to the piece, we’ll consider it a far cry from Ice-T’s “Cop Killer” but certainly a more subtle way to have the five-O quaking in its combat boots.

I can’t wait to listen to the song. He’s the best.
I’m looking for the song. Can’t be long before somebody posts it.
There is a pretty shocking YouTube video which clearly shows the execution of Manuel Caceres by a police officer, one of the incidents which Calle 13 is protesting…
