Che’s legacy outweighs his bad decisions in Cuba. Old school Cubans should be upset at Fidel, and the rest of the government. Pitbull should a class in Latin American history before commenting on something he has no knowledge about.
I don’t think we should looking to PITBULL of all people to provide factually correct Latin American historical information. I mean come on, this is the guy who spews out “Bend over and show me what your working with” or “Ahora loca, mueve la cadera, abre la boca, ahi viene la madera”. Besides, if everyone had to take a class before we commented on anything, only professors and college students could post to blogs ; )
i’m glad so glad that the Bewitched sound effects are being put to good use at Mun2. now, someone needs to give pitbull his ritalin doseage toute suite. vato’s looking like he’s jonesing BIG TIME.
Gente…look behind the romaticized version of Che - he was the biggest racist of them all - real poetic but keep in mind that he’s one of the reasons why people are throwing themselves into shark infested waters to escape from the “revolution” - he was a war monger, he got into other people’s business that didn’t want him there - that’s why he failed in Africa, Guatemala, Bolivia and even in his own country - the only reason Che got a victory for Cuba is because he and Fidel made all those people believe that they were getting rid of a dictator and reverting back to democracy….get it…the Cuban Revolution was about Democracy not communism!
How can Che be racist, if Latin Americans are of the same race? The human race? Or are we a different race than the human race?
To say that Batista was not a puppet regime by controlled by the CIA and the US Government shows your ignorance on American Policy in Latin America after World War2. The views of Che and Castro splinter because Che was more of a Marxist/Trostky Socialist, where Castro leaned towards Marxist/Leninism.
Yes Che has been romanticized in movies, Evita anyone, but for latin americans who studied on Che know people change.
Then, you accuse Che of failing in Guatemala? You mean Che was in Guatemala when Jacabo Arbenz democratically elected government was overthrown by the CIA and the Dulles brothers? Hmm yeah, Che could of really done something there.
Failed in his own country? Did ever try to do any Social Change in Argentina, or was it the Populist government of Peron to strong for him. Did Che ever try?
Seriously, you and Pitbull need to take classes on your Latin American history before spewing off ignorant comments.
Yes there are people out there who can argue agaisnt Che, but they do it intelligently without spewing off ignorance.
pitbull is a mysogynist moron and, just as bad, a mouthpiece of the right-wing Miami Cuban establishment.
He wouldn’t have a record deal if he didn’t agree to push this issue, believe that. He was signed by Emilio Estefan, who is a known tool/agent of the gusano crowd. It’s all good that his records are 95% about bitches shaking ass, so long as he makes sure to bash Castro in print & TV interviews. He’s free to express his views, but it’s criminal that media outlets treat him as an expert.
@ latinogamer..you’re pseudointellectualism goes beyond….not all Latin Americans are of the same race - there are black, white, indian even asian - and yes, Che was a racist among non-whites…whereas you speak on their splintering views, you can’t get around the fact that Che and Fidel LIED to the Cuban people telling them that that their revolution was about democracy so they could overthrow Batista, THE REVOLUTION WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT COMMUNISM…yes, he failed in Guatemala and in his own country - if you don’t know whether he tried or not in Argentina, then it looks like you should read his biography as I did before you start spewing your own ignorance
@ dutchtwista…by the way, Pitbull is not signed to Emilio Estefan but to TVT Records…a NY based non-Cuban run company…and he’s had albums out long before this post…you’re right he is entitled to his opinion, an opinion that I and a lot of people agree with…
Che’s legacy: murderer or martyr aside, this does explain why Che’s image is so painful to Cubans. And I don’t think Cubans need to “get over it.” The Revolution, for all the good it may have achieved, is not the greatest thing that’s ever happened. A lot of prisoners, a lot of concentration camps, and a lot of exiles. Imagine not being able to return home - of not even having the option. Imagine a government that commandeered everything you owned. And who do you blame? After that hp Fidel, I’m thinking Che is a reasonable number 2. People who are totally uninformed on his legacy where the t-shirt thinking he’s some kind of fuck-you to the man. But for Cubans, that might as well be Osama bin Laden.
I think the video was pretty well done. Its not necessarily equating Che with Osama (though, to my mind, they are both terrorists), but to the Cuban mind, they might be.
I am not Cuban so I will decline to comment. ok..i’ll just say this: one person’s martyr is another person’s terrorist. its sad but true.
Pitbull is a misogynist bastardo…i can’t believe they allow people like him to make political commentary when he denigrates fifty percent of the world’s population.
