The gay soccer world cup (yes, there is such a thing) begins in Buenos Aires this week, marking the first time the tournament will be held in Latin American soil. Buenos Aires, Peru, and Rio de Janeiro all competed for the opportunity to host the games this year. Cesar Cigliutti, president of the Argentine Homosexual Community gay advocacy group asserts:

The world cup is a sports and political event which carries a clear signal: every player has the right to express his or her sexual orientation without any prejudice.

Hundreds of beefy, sweaty, muscular athletes will convene in Buenos Gayres and proudly display their true colors. De La Hoya , are you listening?
