Esquire, the sophisticated glossy men’s magazine that chases topics from how to drink your martini to which BMW is the best to get a bj in, is bringing its pompousness to the Spanish speaking masses. The magazine just hit the newsstands in Spain and is set to hit south of the U.S. border soon as well: in Argentina, Mexico, and Chile. So who graces the cover of this manly men’s magazine first issue? None other than actor Woody Allen. Bua-bua-bua-wa-wa-wa.

So, why did Esquire choose to go with this droopy eyed fellow? Find out what Editor-in-chief Andres Rodriguez had to say after the jump.

“[Allen]is the prototype of what men and women see as an intelligent man, one whom they would like to meet for dinner and have a conversation…”

Ok, fine. Yes, probably. So what is the article about?

The piece on Woody Allen examines the film director’s recent quest for movie financing _ and unfettered artistic freedom _ in Europe.”

Hmmm, this story sounds familiar: famous movie director sleeps with young girl and moves to Europe to seek artistic expression. Sounds like a remake of “Rosemary’s baby” is on its way.
