As we were surfing on MySpace for some sweet hot ass last night, we magically stumbled upon a page of Latinas promoting the Miss Caliente Pageant 2007. You read correctly. The inaugural pageant will take place in Tucson, Arizona on November 8th, where 30 women will compete for this enviable title. Like any pageant, participants will be judged on a personal interview, swimsuit, evening wear, and talent show. Here are the eligibility requirements in case any of you want to join:
If you are a natural born female, born of Latin Decent (at least 25%), and meet the age requirements *18-30 as of Sept.1 2007, we invite you to APPLY TODAY! We have created an event designed to help boost your opportunities and open doors to a great career and personal goals.
Wow. Can’t wait to see those 25%, 30 year-old Latinas shake their thing.Read who the judges will be for this classy event after the jump.
Enrique Iglesias, Carmen Electra, boxer Fernando Vargas, boxer Macho Camacho, Demetrius Navarro from ER and Los Lonely Boys.
If you’re at all curious why anyone would be a part of this, here’s what one judge, singer-songwriter had to say:
“I am very excited to be a part of Miss Caliente. I think it’s about time Latina women got a unique opportunity to shine, to be placed in a positive light, and to proudly represent our culture and heritage. Miss Caliente will definitely give Latinas a real chance at making their dreams come true,” revealed Janid, who was voted ‘New York’s Sexiest Latina’ by Farandulife Magazine.

I Love the idea of giving Latinas a chance to shine in the spotlight! Seems like a smart place to market to the male audience..

I love that the word “descent” is misspelled to read “decent” on the ad. ¡Que ironic!

I love the idea of getting the Latin community away from the stereo types of “low riders” and cholos. We too can be sexy and successful!
