The biological father of the unnamed, 4 year-old Cuban girl whose custody is being sought by a foster couple in Coral Gables testified yesterday with some amusing results. A Cuban pig farmer that came to Miami to appear in court, Rafael Izquierdo spent his third day on the stand being grilled by an opposing lawyer about his sex life—just three days after his fitness as a father was questioned because he let his baby’s mama take their child to America knowing the bitch was crazy. After establishing that he had had “intimate relationships” with women two marriages and one mistress-ship, Shelby Tsai asked Izquierdo if there were any more to report; naturally, he played dumb and got her in trouble:
‘That I remember, I have not had any other intimate relationships,” Izquierdo answered.
When Tsai persisted, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Jeri B. Cohen interrupted.
”Is there a point to this?” the judge asked.
”Impeachment, your honor,” Tsai said.
”If he went out with other women and had sex with them, I don’t care,” the judge said.
Gee, it’s as if she followed such a sensational and gratuitous line of questioning knowing the media frenzy surrounding this case would perk up and spin it into news. Shame on them. (Wink.) No wonder we only follow the kind of courtroom drama that’s scripted for the sake of ratings.
