Booyakashah. My name is Kat Fernandez and I am your new Associate Editor. I first decided to take this job because it means I can work from home and give myself as many pedicures as I please. But then I realized, since my mom is Colombian, my dad Venezuelan and my step-father Ecuadorian, I may have a few insights to share. Oh and did I mention I was raised in Puerto Rico and Queens? Plus, when I first found Guanabee, I was a little shocked, a little curious and very scared. And then I was totally like, “Fuck, why didn’t I think of that?!”
I look forward to sharing with you my obsessions with Walter Mercado, pots and pans in the oven and Classic Rock. I hope to make you laugh, think, and above all, feel like you’re not the only brown kid without his own blog to read. And, if you live in New York and you need a good cleaning lady my mom will do a great job. She’s a U.S. citizen.

damn girl, you are hot! cant wait to see the words come out of your mouth!

U.S. citizen? No sale! She probably wants, like, benefits and FICA and stuff.
Welcome, Kat to the F. — can’t wait to read the inevitable Walter Mercado blowout obituary when that sad day comes.

Kat rocks my world, and will someday carry my babies. You look absolutely stunning in that photo. What’s your secret? Walter Mercado’s special “water”?

Is it strange that it never occurred to me that the pots-and-pans-in-the-oven was a uniquely Latino thing? Or does it simply speak on my lack of exposure to la cocina blanca?
