The Life You’re Not Living: Mexican Independence At New York’s La Esquina
18 September 2007, 5:38 PM. By Daniel Mauser
Saturday night we attended the Mexican Independence Day party thrown by New York promoters Fresa Salvaje in the oh-so-exclusive basement of trendy La Esquina restaurant in NoLita. La Esquina is the kind of place where rich, Mexican juniors spend the night excusing themselves from the dinner table to go blow rails of coke in the bathroom while Papi and his 28 year-old second wife enjoy candlelit tequila shots and $500 an hour mariachis. Fortunately, Guanabee staff photographer Danielle Ezzo was there to capture every excruciating moment. And sometimes, the management actually let her! As long as she wasn’t, you know, making people smile or anything. Proof after the jump.
