Unshocking Revelation: Latin American Immigrants Are Poorly Educated (And Probably Poor)

Latin_Immigrant_Dunce_9_12_07.jpg Do we have to even go there and say it ain’t their fault? An annual, independent survey of 3 million people sanctioned by the Census Bureau shows that the number of immigrants in the U.S. reached an all-time high last year. But the real story is that the ones hailing from Latin America are dumbing down the states they move to. (A very sneaky way for the Latino New World Order to advance its agenda.) Only 11% percent of Latin American immigrants held at least a bachelor’s degree, and 47% of them didn’t even have a high school diploma. Compare that to 27% and 13% among Americans born here, respectively. Want some silver lining to all this? Take it away, demographer William Frey of the Brookings Institute, a Washington think tank!

“It used to be the poor southern states that had low levels of education and income. Now it is the high-immigration states as well,” Frey said. “But that isn’t to say that the second or third generation won’t do better, because they will,” he added. “There is upward mobility.”

We’d like to say we’re proof positive of this, but our parents have medical doctorates and here we are blogging for a living. Go figure.
