ABC President Stephen Mcphereson Is A Straight Shooter

Don’t toss your televisions out the window folks. There is in fact more brown deliberately added to your screens. The President of television network ABC, Stephen McPherson, revealed his successful business tactics after telling the New York Times that his courting of the Hispanic audience wasn’t a decision based on benevolence, but a decision based on raking in the dough:

When Mr. McPherson took over ABC three years ago, he made some important operational changes, too. He stopped marketing new shows equally, a vestige of the pre-cable era intended to keep producers happy. And he was the first Big Four network executive to aggressively court the country’s growing Hispanic audience (including dubbing shows into Spanish and pushing his staff to cast more Hispanic actors). “I didn’t do that because I’m a nice guy,” he said recently over breakfast near ABC’s headquarters in Burbank, Calif. “I did it because it’s smart business.”

Indeed! The way we see it, more TV for us, and more opportunities to spot when you get it all wrong.
