Beyond The Barrio: A Band So Rich They Don’t Care What You Pay For Their Music
1 October 2007, 11:15 AM. By Daniel Mauser
Cheap-ass alert: Radiohead are releasing their newest album (October 10th for download only) to fans and they are giving you the option of paying pennies for their music. The unprecedented move is surely to provide rich-wannabe poor-hipsters the chance to practice the fine art of stinginess, but for us broke ass vatos, this move comes as a great way to sidestep the five minutes of guilt we feel every time we hijack a new album for free. Radiohead’s website gives us the scoop:
Instead of listing a price for the music, the group’s website simply states “it’s up to you” - and then adds: “No really, it’s up to you.”
Wait, we just remembered we’re not into whiny British pop. Damn! [Ed. Note: Speak for yourself, Philistine.]
